The end to a very busy and rewarding 2017 season has arrived. We are happy to report that most all of the local rivers and streams are teeming with chinook and coho salmon. The chum salmon are also just starting to show in the mouths of the rivers. Bottom fishing/catching remains strong as long as the weather cooperates.
It is quite rewarding and amazing to see Mother Nature at work. We could easily film a Discovery Channel show starring thousands of fish, with lots of black bears and bald eagles. As you are aware, what this all means is that this healthy environment will yield excellent fishing/catching for many years to come.
2-million additional salmon will be released in the Spring of 2018
Thank you for the continued success of the Salmon Enhancement Derby, now in it's 14th year. The Derby has raised more than $400,000 to support local volunteer hatcheries and the Conuma Hatchery, as well as river and stream rehabilitation. Annually, approximately two million additional salmon fry are put in the local waters as a result of the efforts. It really is all about the fish.
2018 season is booking up very quickly
As you might have guessed, the 2018 season is already booking up very quickly. If you intend to fish/catch with us in the upcoming season, we recommend you consider your dates NOW in order that we may meet your request. 250-934-7672 or info@westviewmarina.com.
