For a quicker and even more scenic route choose the flight option on a private seaplane charter. We offer the choice of departing from downtown Vancouver, the Vancouver Airport Sea Plane base or from Northwest Seaplanes at Lake Washington in Seattle. Your short flight will deliver you direct to the dock at Eagle Nook Resort. On the way you will be treated to spectacular aerial views of the rugged Vancouver Island coastline, including the Strait of Georgia, Port Alberni Inlet, Sproat Lake and the Cowichan Valley. Nature provides the perfect backdrop for one of the most picturesque fishing expeditions you will ever experience
Offering World Class Salmon & Halibut Fishing Charters
Our area provides you with the options of fishing the off shore fish rich banks, a nursery for young salmon and a major migratory route for mature salmon and Halibut. If the weather is not cooperating or you are not up for the big water adventure, then you can choose to fish inshore in the calm waters of protected sounds while trolling close to the open surf pounded coastline.
The serious saltwater season begins in May, and is over by the end of September. Early in the season you can find great fishing for feeder Chinook in the protected inshore waters of major inlets & sounds. Migrating halibut start coming onto the shallow banks from the deep ocean around late April. In late June, the first sizable Coho mix with both feeder and mature springs. June and July sockeye fill the Port Alberni Canal just 15 minutes away from the resort. The fish come in waves after that, with run after run feeding and growing all summer.
Barkley Sound abounds with nature. The opportunities to see whales, eagles, seals, sea lions, bears and sea birds, will make this trip a truly memorable experience. While the rugged coastline will definitely bring out the adventurer in you, the amenities back at the resort will have you ready to go for another amazing fishing day.
