Blackfish Lodge
Blackfish Lodge
A floating lodge in fishing paradise
Are you looking for a British Columbia fishing lodge that offers a remote wilderness location and a variety of terrific fishing opportunities? Want the personal service you expect from a small lodge? Relax, you’ve found it – Blackfish Lodge. Our fly fishing, conventional freshwater fishing, salmon fishing and bottom-fishing are the stuff of legends. You’ll fish for salmon, trout, and halibut in some of the most beautiful locations you can imagine.
Freshwater fishing
Canadian fishing trips to Blackfish Lodge offer an outstanding variety of freshwater fishing opportunities for both fly anglers and conventional gear anglers of any skill and experience level. Canadian fishing trips have great options! You’ll have the choice of fishing a medium-sized river, small streams, lakes, and saltwater estuaries. Species available are cutthroat trout, dolly varden char, rainbow trout, searun cutthroat trout, coho (silver) salmon, pink salmon, king salmon and, very rarely, steelhead.
Great Saltwater Fishing
Salmon fishing in BC is world-class. Blackfish Lodge is in prime position to intercept the millions of migrating salmon that go through the bottleneck of British Columbia’s Inside Passage. Blackfish Lodge is situated to take full advantage of the presence of these fish. Trolling is our method of choice and, year after year, our guests really appreciate how consistent our fishing remains. The area is also home to some excellent BC halibut fishing—some spots are within just a few minutes of the lodge. Our largest halibut, which was landed in the 2005 season, topped out at 200 pounds!
Best Time to Fish

When your fishing day finally ends, you'll zoom home enjoying the spectacular scenery. Jagged cliffs, soaring giant trees, bald eagles abound. Keep your eyes open as you may spot a bear roaming the shore for an easy snack or a pod of orca whales plying the inlet. There is a certain comfort in never being out of site from land and the protected waters are often as smooth as glass for a comfortable ride home.
