Two trips have passed now since The Clubhouse opened on May 29th and one trip at North Island Lodge that opened earlier this week on June 2nd. Down in Port Louis, Kuiama and the rest of The Outpost staff are anxiously waiting for their first guests to touch down tomorrow so that they too can get in on the action.
In this short early season window, Langara has produced fish in the 30's' 40's, and 50's; with way too many to count in the 15 to 25 pound range with everyone limiting out and releasing dozens of others. We couldn't have asked for a better start to the season and to make the situation even sweeter, the Cohos started showing up recently in the 5 to 6 pound range. Life and fishing couldn't be better in Haida Gwaii right now!

The fourth annual SNC Derby came to a close yesterday and for the second year in a row, the uncle and nephew team of Bob Yoshioka and Doug Shigaki (pictured here with Dave Akins 2011 and 2012 winner - far left) came-from-behind to win on the final day with a 54 pound hog. During the offseason, down at the Boston Whaler headquarters in Florida, we had 2 new 27' Guardians custom built to add to our already impressive fleet of best in class boats ready to take you anywhere the fish are quickly and comfortably.
North Island Lodge veteran guides DJ Shinduke and Brent Gallacher are very pleased with the new addition of T-tops to their 21' Eaglecrafts. The boys say they are fishy as ever and look forward to hog hunting with some cover this summer.
