Brett Hite has earned his first Bassmaster Elite Series win at the 2014 Dick Cepek Bassmaster Elite Series season opener at Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Ga. The Bassmaster Elite Series rookie hails from Pheonix, Ariz. and now shares a page in the series' history as one of only two series rookies to have earned the win. Although new to this series, Hite has a 13-year history of competing in major tournaments. His margin of victory was an impressive 13-0 over the runner-up, Todd Faircloth.

The Bassmaster Elite Series includes eight regular season events and a newly formed Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship competition. A $100,000 first-place prize is at stake at each event, along with qualification for the 2015 Bassmaster Classic World Championship, which Hite earned with his win at the opening event. In addition, pros also earn points in the race for the 2014 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year title.
