Fly Fishing
Fly fishing has been very good the past few weeks. All of our mountain lakes are now "ice free" and most have finished going thru "turn over". Fly fishing our mountain lakes will continue to fish excellent until the end of June. Joe from New Brunswick had never fly fished before and decided to give it a try. He landed over 15 fish to 4.5# on his first day out and took 2 fish home for the barbeque. Way to go Joe!

Kalamalka & Wood Lake Report
Our Wood Lake fishery for Kokanee is just finishing up as the season closes on May 31st. we had some good days on the water catching Kokanee to 3lbs. Kalamalka lake is just starting to warm up for Kokanee fishing as reports are coming in of anglers catching Kokanee to 3lbs. and Rainbows to 5lbs. Last year some Kokanee were caught in the 7lb. range. Our large lakes seem to go through cycles regarding size and quantity and Kal lake is on the up swing of the cycle.
Bass Fishing Report
Bass fishing has been awesome the past couple of weeks with fish caught to 6lbs. The Bass have now finished spawning and will have moved off their beds and onto the first drop. If you didn't get out with us this year I would suggest giving it a try next spring. Best time is usually last week of April to the 3rd week of May. Sight fishing for Bass on the beds is like bone fishing on the flats and is extremely exciting. If you are a fly fisherman , you should give it a try, it will defiantly put your skills to the test! We DO Not keep any Bass during the spawn and consequently ALL fish are released to be caught another day.
Shuswap Lake Report
Shuswap lake fished very good for Lake Trout this past spring and decent for Rainbows. DFO's prediction of up to 70 million returning sockeye in the Fraser river system is HUGE! This is very good news for the Rainbow fishery on the Shu. The last big run was 30 million fish and consequently we experienced some incredible fishing with 20 plus fish days the norm for Rainbow Trout to 10lbs. on light tackle. This fishery will take place starting in early April until mid May. Guests who previously fished with us in 2011 and 2012 are already booking their dates for spring 2015 so don't miss out on this exciting fishery!
