North Island Lodge Update: "55 pound release"
The last day and a half the bite has been on as our guests have been busy with lots of great action, double headers, more Cohos running through and a few nice tyees along the way. The Outpost Update: "The tyees are rolling in!"
Down in Port Louis, the action has kept our guests busy and the size has been ramping up. There is only one day left in the trip and the guests have already caught multiple tyees and a lot in the 26 to 29 pound range. Tired from reeling in all their fish, two Outpost guests took an afternoon off to go beach combing and stumbled upon two basketball size glass balls. Needless to say they chose to take those in their carry on and not have them vac packed; never a dull moment at The Outpost. The second half of June has been action packed and produced great size for the guests at all three of our lodges! Up until 24 hours ago, the 2014 record was held by Clubhouse guest Doug Shigaki at 54 pounds, but on a beautiful, calm Langara day, with the sun shining down and the bite on; North Island Lodge guest Dennis Dieni caught and released a beauty 55 pounder to take the lead. More and more tyees are being caught each trip and we are proud to announce, that in true West Coast Fishing Club fashion, all Chinooks over 40 have been released so far this season.
