Fernie Fly Fishing
Elk River
Fernie Fly Fishing
Only a few spots remain for some of the best dry fly fishing in the world
I couldn't be more excited for our dry fly fishing extravaganza on my home waters in Fernie, BC this summer. Fernie is not only one of the coolest towns in the Rocky Mountains, but hosts some of the best dry fly fishing in the world.
The diversity of the fishery is astounding ... giant bull trout and wild cutthroat who would rather eat dry flies than anything else.
The Elk River is a classic free stone river; boasting big fish, breathtaking views and known to many as one of the world's premiere dry fly fisheries. You can’t beat big native cutthroat eating dries with reckless abandonment.
The Elk River is filled with deep pools, buckets, undercut banks, sweet foam lines, big chunky rocks, log jams, dancing riffles, grassy banks and an array of back channels, offering endless angling adventure either walking and wading or drift boat fishing.

Wigwam River
Nature's gift to anglers is the Wigwam River. Located deep in the backcountry, this catch and release river is remote, gin clear, and beyond beauty. The Wigwam is highly regulated, well respected, and home to big native cutthroat, bigger cutbows, and even bigger migratory bull trout that will be in the river during our week in August!
Accommodations are at one of Fernie's most reputable hotels, the Park Place Lodge, within walking distance to downtown Fernie's shops and restaurants.
Last available week is August 13-18 - $1,650 US per person, based on double occupancy. Package includes 4 days guided fly fishing, lodging and fishing licenses.
