Kitimat Lodge Fishing
By Tracey John Hittel
The Skeena River is in perfect condition with the Steelhead moving thru the system and into their home rivers, however finding them is a challenge and requires patience. And that patience payed off last week with many good catches of salmon and large Steelhead.
First time client, as well as first time Steelhead fishing, Momma as we call her, nailed a 20 pounder. I can tell you this is the biggest fish I can remember. Of course with Momma catching a big one, Pappa was no slouch as he fooled a 40 inch Steelhead to chase his Black Intruder.
That same day, Ito and Youzo, repeat clients, each landed a 40 inch fish. I guess this fall has big fish. And to top it off, Thurman from Texas, landed a 41 inch buck in the first pool.
With the guiding season here in Skeena and Kitimat coastal turning into a trickle, like the rivers, we are now booking for 2014. For more information contact us: tjhittel@telus.net.
