Chilliwack/Vedder River Report - September 1, 2017
The river is still low with little to no rain during August. A few fish are making their way but certainly it is tough with the conditions. With a little rain things will change quickly. Best times to fish is early morning and late evening using very light line and leaders. If you are in the lower river or canal, try hitting the high tides. There are a few Coho and Pinks arriving each day and the Chinook can show up anytime. Again the efforts from FRSA are to get an opening in this terminal fishery for Pinks asap. Many other terminal fisheries are now open so it makes you wonder why the Fraser Valley is different. Does not have any rationale to justify the delay.

Interior Lakes Report - August 29, 2017
Fishing is still an option if you can get to your favorite lake. The bigger lakes with more depth are producing good results. The smaller lakes are in the summer slump but a few fish a day is always nice. The higher elevation lakes are cooling off as the evening temperatures are dropping. This means better fishing and it get better as we head into September.
Fraser Rver Report - September 3, 2017
The Fraser River is dropping to very low flow conditions as the lack of rain continues. The water conditions are clear and certainly offers some potential great fishing if you want to get out on the water. The only issue is there is no Salmon fishing allowed at this time, despite the good numbers of fish rolling in. Pinks are staging throughout the river and Chinook are coming through in decent numbers. The fishing at the mouth of the river has been very good. for Chinook and Pinks. These fish will be heading our way soon and if we get rain it should be exceptional. The only issue is the opening that everyone is waiting to see from DFO. It is hopeful that we will be open soon. As mentioned , FRSA was on the river to demonstrate options for DFO if the conservation concern is still in place for Sockeye. The options would avoid Sockeye and allow for fishing for Chinook and Pinks.
If you want the river open, join the team at FRSA. They are committed to bringing a positive influence that puts fish first and a balance of opportunity to the users of the resource in a fair and equitable manner.
Make your voice heard to government that you demand access to a fishery that is your heritage and hopefully the future. You can only be part of the solution if you are part of the fishery. Now is the time to act if you want your children to have the opportunity to fish in years to come.
Sturgeon are one of the only fisheries open and that is a catch and release option. The fishing has been tough but the number of big fish has been impressive this year. Many of our guided trips are enjoying fish of a lifetime. The experience is amazing, especially when you are part of a huge scientific research program that monitor, tag and release these incredible fish so the fishery is managed to the best standards to ensure that these special species are looked after in the best possible way. Harrison River Report - August 29, 2017
Pinks are showing up now. We will let you know when its a retention fishery, hopefully soon. Trout are also moving around, so there are some nice options in the beautiful green water and you can fish in a variety of ways. From the shore, fly or spin and if you have a boat, you can add trolling, anchoring and back trolling to the above. Along this system you can explore and pursue some very nice species of fish. There is no Salmon retention at this time of year. The sizes of the sea run Trout and Char can be exceptional. Shore access if limited. If you have a small powered boat or raft you will be able to get into areas where its just to far or challenging to walk. Make sure you are up on the rules and regulations
Chehalis River Report - August 29, 2017
Water levels are low and clear conditions mean that we need some rain badly. Dedicated river rats are finding a few fish in the deeper pools if you are willing to do some hiking. Next rain will certainly change things for the better.
Stave River Report - August 29, 2017
The Stave is an option for some Trout. It is not full of fish at this time of year but a great place to explore and there are some nice surprises lurking in the clear green water.
Local Lakes Report - August 29, 2017
The hot temperatures can really slow the fishing at this time of year. The bigger lakes usually provide the best options where you can find colder water in the deeper areas. The weather is great and if you catch a fish, it is a bonus. Get out there and have some fun.
