East Coast Vancouver Island fishing is heating up

Late April fishing on the east coast of Vancouver Island is heating up. The waters around Nanaimo are alive with migratory chinook, most in the 8 to 25 pound range. Spoons and hootchies in 3.5" size seem to be working best.

Prawning continues to be awesome, with 200-350 being the normal catch. With the price of BC spot prawns being $79.99 per kilogram, why not load up on these tasty creatures now, while the catching is productive.
