Trailfest
“Trailfest” is quickly becoming one of Ontario’s premier off-roading events for off-road enthusiasts and their families.

Summer wheeling, crawling, bogging and racing – you better be ready because it’s all ready started. This issue is a fat issue - lots of installs, events and destinations. Thank-you to the all the readers and clubs who said they love the mag and sent in photos, articles and events.
Speaking of clubs, not everyone belongs to a 4x4 club but we all benefit from them. 4x4 clubs not only provide a focal, social gathering place (via forums, web sites and on the trail) but many also work to maintain trails and our access to them. We’ve all got stories about a trail we used to run but can’t anymore.
You may have noticed the new Club News & Events section in the mag devoted to Canadian clubs and news. We want to hear about your clubs’ trail rides, show ‘n shines, fundraising events and general good times. At 4WDrive we’re reaching out to clubs. If you’re a member of a club please contact me – we can provide coverage of your event to boost attendance, provide magazines for you to hand out as a fundraiser, offer discounted subscriptions for club members and more.
The 4x4 Events Calendar on the web site will let you to share the details of your event with the rest of the world. It’s not just for clubs but also for off-road parks, off-road events and 4x4 shops who are hosting events; including customer appreciation days – we all love a free burger and a sale on parts.
If you’re not a member of a club please look into it. There’s usually a few to choose from in your area so you should be able to find one that suits your style. Memberships are usually dirt cheap, less than the price of a half a tank of gas, and often offer discounts at local 4x4 shops so your membership could actually end up making you money. Helping keep trails open is an extra benefit.
It’s summer time now in Canada, from Mt. St Elias, Yukon Territory to Cape Spear, Newfoundland. We have almost 10,000,000 square kilometers to explore without leaving our borders and less than 4 people per square km. We’re on the trails, in the mud bogs, crawlin’ over rocks and racing over dirt tracks, it sure is good to be Canadian.
Enjoy the heat, sweat, mud and don’t shed any tears over broken parts. After all, it just means you have a good excuse to install something better.
