This quaint and historical town was named one of the ten prettiest towns in Canada by Harrowsmith Country Life Magazine. The town’s turn-of-the-century architecture as well as shipping, mining and logging artifacts can be toured by picking up a heritage walking route map. The vibrant local arts scene, as well as Ladysmith’s maritime history, provides many entertaining and enlightening events throughout the year.
Transfer Beach is a popular swimming area and a launch point for kayakers. Exceptional waterfront dining, a floating maritime museum, an art gallery in heritage railway building, (all within a few minutes’ walk of the marina!) plus hiking trails with spectacular views round out the many reasons to make Ladysmith a year round destination.
You can cycle or drive just north of Ladysmith to discover rural attractions including an Economusee herb farm, a corn maze, and a cranberry farm. Unique to Cedar-Yellowpoint area is Roberts Memorial Part, and its sculpted sandstone rock outcroppings characteristic of Gulf Island coastlines.
Ladysmith Marina provides secure moorage for vessels up to 100’, with 30 and 50 amp power, WiFi, and a café serving breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday. As part of Oak Bay Marine Group, they offer their annual moorage customers exclusive access to all five of their Island marinas.
