Throughout 2015, GSA supporters from around the Strait will be hosting celebrations in honour of our 25th birthday. We want you to join us!
Gathering friends together to celebrate Georgia Strait Alliance’s birthday is a great way to show you care about the health of our marine environment and the sustainability of our coastal communities. Raising funds for a healthy Strait and having fun at the same time – it’s easier than you think!
There are 3 ways you can get involved:
Are you already planning to gather friends and family together? Dedicate your party to GSA!
- Turn your own birthday party, staff barbecue, family picnic, anniversary, or block party into a celebration of the waters we all love to protect by giving your party a “Celebrate the Strait” theme.
- Anything goes! Just pick a venue, bring together your friends, family or colleagues, arrange for food, beverages and activities and enjoy!
- GSA will provide you with a party tool kit filled with the information and materials you will need to encourage your friends to join us in celebrating 25 years of caring for our coastal waters by becoming members!
Do you want GSA to be the Star of the Show?
Host a gathering that is all about Georgia Strait Alliance, our 25 years of success, and your personal commitment to a prosperous and resilient Strait.
- Again, anything goes in terms of the event – you supply the venue, the guests and the goodies, and we will supply the tool kit.
- If you have 15 or more guests, we will do our best to provide you with a speaker or special guest (if you wish) who can share stories of our campaigns and accomplishments over the years and talk about our plans for the year ahead.

Peer-to-peer fundraising raises millions of dollars for Canadian charities each year.
- We can make it easy for you to manage a personalized fundraising campaign in support of GSA through your network. Just ask us how!
When supporters like you share their love of our waters and Celebrate the Strait with their friends, they are helping GSA to increase public awareness of ocean issues, increase our membership, and raise money for our work to find solutions to the threats facing our marine environment and coastal communities. And in return, you get to have fun giving back to GSA!
