Lowrance said readers of Game & Fish/Sportsman Magazine selected the company’s HDS Gen3 as their Favorite Fishfinder/GPS in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
“Our hardcore anglers often cited ‘ease-of-use’ when they voted for the HDS Gen3,” Game & Fish/Sportsman Magazines publisher Peter Gross said in a statement. “Lowrance has done a good job making advanced features easily accessible to users on the water.”
Game & Fish/Sportsman, a national magazine with a monthly distribution of more than 400,000, asked manufacturers to submit new-gear nominees in 12 categories, from rods and reels to boats and stand-up paddleboards.
To be eligible, products had to be introduced during the last three years. The magazine then queried a large sampling of readers, subscribers and e-newsletter recipients to determine favorite picks.
Results of the voting appeared in the March issue. Awards were presented to winners last week at ICAST in Orlando, Fla.
Lowrance said the majority of the respondents considered themselves expert or advanced bass anglers. The survey also revealed that about half of the respondents caught more than 50 fish annually and that one in five fished more than 30 days last year.
“Our development effort for the Lowrance HDS Gen3 has always focused on providing the latest technology in the easiest to use format,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO of Navico, parent company of the Lowrance, Simrad, B&G and GoFree brands. “We are very excited to receive this feedback from our customers and are very grateful for the recognition by this outstanding media outlet.”
