ROCK THE PEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL
By Staff Writer
This new festival will not only surprise by its dimension, it will also excite you by its superior content. We guarantee you that this show will be the best the BC interior has ever seen.
Besides the quality of the performances, iRock Entertainment Inc. has put together an all Canadian production team which is second to none. The principals of this company and their staff have received past public credits as some of the best in the business in North America.
It is our intention to establish “Rock the Peach Music Fest” in Penticton as one of North-America’s finest. An immediate and long-lasting impact to the local and regional economy will be noticed.
We have announced the final lineup for our 2012 show and we can assure our guests and sponsors that our focus is on a world-class music program of all genres with a strong family content.. This festival will also offer substantial revenue generating opportunities for local societies and non-profit service providers.
All this however will not become possible without the support of corporate sponsors, donations and in- kind services and the incredible contribution of approx. 400+ volunteers. “Rock the Peach Music Fest” will however not become sustainable by just selling tickets, festival related services and sales of official merchandise. We can not do it without your help!
Our lineup for Rock the Peach Music Fest 2012:
Collective Soul: Hailing from the city of Atlanta, Georgia, Collective Soul shot to international fame with their 1993 release Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid, and their mega #1 hit “Shine.” The album was a collection of Ed Roland’s demos that spread quickly through the college underground circuit and caught fire, going on to achieve Double-Platinum status. After having been invited to the 25th Anniversary Woodstock concert, Collective Soul went into the studio to record their sophomore follow up. The self-titled Collective Soul, released in March of 1995, would be the album that would help define their sound of catchy melodies and guitar driven songs. Containing four outstanding singles (three of which reached #1), “December,” “The World I Know,” “Where The River Flows,” and “Gel,” it became Collective Soul’s highest selling album to date. The album went Triple-Platinum and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard Top 200 charts.
Sam Roberts Band: is thrilled to announce the release of their new album, Collider. Set for a May 10th release on Zoë/Rounder Records, Collider reinforces the spirit of the band's classic pop song craft and infectious melodies that countless critics fell in love with. Joined by Califone percussionist Ben Massarella and Antibalas woodwind wizard Stuart Bogie, the band explores a world of rhythms, sounds and ideas that challenged their understanding of themselves and the music that they were making. Produced by Chicago-based producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse / Iron and Wine,) Collider is the follow up to Roberts' critically acclaimed album Love At The End Of The World. The new energy is immediately apparent on the album's opening track "The Last Crusade," which begins as a simmering soul shuffle before gradually intensifying into a brass-blasted Afro-funk blowout. Bogie and Massarella's role on this album amounts to more than just firing up the band's funkiness on tracks like "Let It In" and adding a Sticky Fingers swing to "Sang Froid." The process of opening up the songs to accommodate their guest contributions forced the band to refine and refocus their own playing.
Ronnie Dunn: Ronnie Dunn is more than just the first-ever solo album by one of country music’s most beloved artists -- a man who’s already learned a thing or two about being a singer in a cowboy band. As familiar as his winning voice has become, Ronnie Dunn has only now taken the time to explore once and for all his own powerful voice as a brand new solo artist. And as Dunn himself notes with a laugh, “I have to say, I’m sure enjoying feeling ‘new’ all over again.”
Other artists to appear at our festival include: Jesse Cook, WAR, Three Dog Night, Andrew Allen, Glass Tiger, Treble Charger, the winner of our ‘Battle to Rock the Peach’ contest, and many more.
