A 2014 Good Sam Top RV Park for Golfers, Emerald Desert offers convenient access to a number of challenging public and private courses and on-site practice facilities. Desert Springs Golf Club and Arnold Palmer’s Classic Club are just two guest favorites. Every January, watch the pros do what they do best at the PGA Tour’s Humana Challenge. They hit the fairways of the Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus Private Courses at PGA West and the La Quinta Country Club.
Unearth the beauty of Joshua Tree:
Joshua Tree National Park encompasses two deserts and 790,000 acres of Southern California terrain. Each year, thousands flock to the incredible landscape formed by cooling magma and 100 million years of erosion. Possibly the most photographed rock formation within the park, Arch Rock is located along a half-mile stretch of trail, not far off the beaten path. For a longer hike, Fortynine Palms Oasis is a 3-mile round-trip trek at the north end of Joshua Tree. And if you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, ask park rangers about the popular Geology Road.
Fly high above Palm Springs:
Palm Springs is effortlessly cool, even when the weather is not. But that’s not the only way to stay cool in the desert. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the world’s largest rotating tramcar and a perfect outing for all ages. Climb over 5,000 feet up Chino Canyon in less than 10 minutes. At 8,516 feet these views of the Coachella Valley are spectacular. Bring a sweater, the temperature can be 10 - 15 degrees cooler at the top.
