Stuart Lake Fishing Derby

The 19th Annual Stuart Lake Fishing Derby Starts at Friday, July 1 at 6:00 AM and ends on July 3, at 12:00 PM. Join us in celebrating the successful fishermen at Cottonwood Beach from 12:00 – 2:30 July 3rd. There will be a general information and weigh station kiosk set up at Cottonwood Park in Fort St. James.
Official Hours:
- Friday, July 1, 2016 6 AM to 8 PM
- Saturday, July 2, 2016 6 AM to 8 PM
- Sunday July 3, 2016 6 AM to 12 PM
Last Minute Ticket Sales
Tickets will be available at the Fort St. James Chamber of Commerce and the Cottonwood Beach Weigh Station during the Fishing Derby. Your ticket must be purchased in advance of participating. Please ensure everyone in the boat that is participating in the derby holds a valid Fishing Derby ticket. Tickets are $50 plus tax.

Safety
- Be aware that weather conditions on Stuart Lake can change very quickly. Before you set out please make sure to let someone know where you are fishing. In adverse conditions please get to shore as soon as possible.
- The Derby Committee encourages all participants to observe all common angling courtesies and practice safe boating. Participants must comply with the Operator Competency Requirements described on page 8 of the Safe Boating Guide.
- It is recommended that all derby participants purchase an official marine chart of Stuart Lake to become familiar with the general layout of the lake and its hazards and channels.
- The RCMP and Conservation Officer Service will be present on Stuart Lake for the weekend of the Fishing Derby. Be aware that your boat may be stopped for a random check.
