2016 Tuna Derby

August 19, 20, 21 & 22, 2016

Join us for our 1st annual, 4-day Tuna Derby. As with all of our derbies our goal is to raise funds for salmon enhancement and habitat restoration projects within the Nootka Sound watershed, benefiting not only the salmon fishing community but our local natural environment.

Event Information

Nootka Marine Adventures will be holding its first annual four day Tuna Derby in the waters off of Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet. 

For Participants

Newton Cove Resort will serve as headquarters for the derby where the fish weigh-in and prize ceremonies will take place. There is a $500 per boat entry fee and participants are encouraged to register with our customer service agents in advance of arrival.

Prizes & Sponsors

Our sponsors have the option to support our derby through donations of cash, merchandise or a combination of both. This year's cash prize will be based on a percentage of the entry fees received. In addition, we have some high value products, from a variety of sponsors, to be featured on our prize table.

Our Purpose

To actively promote and participate in salmon enhancement and habitat restoration in the Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet watersheds as well as to foster and develop interest in sport fishing.
