The BOLT(r) Padlock 2.0 from STRATTEC(r) Security Corporation allows enthusiasts to secure all their gear without the hassle of carrying countless extra keys.
Featuring BOLT's Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology, the Padlock 2.0 eliminates the need to carry an extra key or memorize combinations by permanently programming to lock and unlock using the vehicle's ignition key.
"Our Padlock 2.0 product is ideal for recreational activities like four wheeling, jet skiing, racing and even horseback riding because it allows enthusiasts to secure multiple gates, outbuildings and enclosed trailers all with one key," said Sales Manager Erika Garcia. "Because the Padlock 2.0 uses a vehicle's ignition key, hobbyists can save valuable time by ensuring they'll never get to their designation and not be able to unlock and use their gear."
BOLT's Padlock 2.0 locks, which don't come equipped with their own key, are programmed during the first use: When drivers insert their ignition key into the padlock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
Featuring a sleek design and double ball bearing locking mechanism, the Padlock 2.0 has a spring-loaded, chrome-plated 5/16" diameter hardened steel shackle inside a crush-resistant body shell. It includes an automotive-grade, stainless steel lock shutter to keep out weather and debris, as well as a six-plate tumbler sidebar that prevents picking and bumping.
The BOLT Padlock 2.0 works with most GM (early and late model), Ford and Dodge vehicles on the road today. Additional BOLT locks such as receiver locks, cable locks and spare tire locks are also available. For more information, visit www.boltlock.com.
