Point Hudson Marina & RV Park is located on the northeast corner of the Olympic Peninsula in historic Port Townsend. On the primary route to the San Juan Islands, this modern full-service RV Park has an abundant supply of guest moorage. Home to 475 commercial and recreational vessels and more than sixty marine trades businesses, the Boat Haven provides more than 6000 overnight guest moorage accommodations for visiting boats every year. The marina’s fuel dock has gasoline, diesel, stove oil, and a waste pump-out station. Other facilities include showers, laundry, a launch ramp, port-a-potty dump station, upland storage, covered storage, and travel lifts of up to 300 tons capacity. Marine parts, charts, and supplies are available from the in-port marine trades businesses. In 2013 the Port will also have an on-site U.S. Customs office.
Lodging, restaurants, and grocery stores are located within easy walking distance of the RV Park. They offer 46 full hook-up sites and two sites without hook-up. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome. An easy beach walk brings you to Fort Worden and Point Wilson Lighthouse. This handsome seaside retreat offers a truly memorable experience to visitors from around the world. Its rich maritime heritage, combined with 2000 feet of scenic, unspoiled Admiralty Inlet beach, provides a perfect setting for a romantic getaway, an adventurous holiday or just some well-deserved shore time.
Port Townsend is home to the first and largest Wooden Boat Festival in North America, and now a year-round destination and resource for wooden boat enthusiasts. The Wooden Boat Foundation is located at the Northwest Maritime Center, adjacent to the entrance to Point Hudson Marina (home of the Wooden Boat Festival) and in the heart of the historic and civic district of downtown Port Townsend. Boatyards, boat shops and expert craftspeople including sail makers, riggers and woodworkers are within walking distance of the park. The new 26000 square foot Northwest Maritime Center offers classes, boat storage, a boat shop and a pilothouse with navigation and communication equipment. The Boat Shop is where visitors can see ongoing boat-building projects ranging from individuals building their own small boats to larger group projects. The Education Building is open six days a week offering “a little bit of Wooden Boat Festival” all year round and it is free to the public.
Starting September 6th, 2013, wooden boat lovers from around the world gather here to share their love for classic boats. This four-day Wooden Boat Festival has grown through the years to include nearly 300 wooden vessels, on land and in the water.
With historic roots back to 1792, Port Townsend’s 9000 residents embrace their seafaring history and carry on those traditions in a proud and skillful manner. Boating and maritime life are central elements in this port town located right on the doorstep to the majestic Olympic Peninsula. Many visitors are also here to experience the vast collection of restored ornate office buildings and Victorian homes the community is so well known for.
