The British Columbia Wildlife Park offers its guests a variety of “special” year round experiences focusing on the diversity of wildlife in British Columbia.
Their yearly calendar is now filled with 10 extra “special” events and over 45 days per year are dedicated to these special happenings. Whether it’s the spectacular laser light and pyrotechnics show featured at “Boo at the Zoo” and their “Annual Wildlights Celebration” which includes over 600,000 lights on display or the entertainers like Uncle Chris the Clown and Bobs and Lolo who regularly perform during their special event days. Easter sees thousands of chocolate Easter Eggs given to the kids, and there is the annual BC Bears Day and Victoria Day celebrations all of which make the BC Wildlife Park the place for complete family entertainment.
Grizzly and black bears, cougar, wolves, bison, snakes, and deer are just some of the animals that guests can expect to see on a daily basis in attractive and spacious habitats. During the summer months they schedule daily animal encounters and feedings with educational talks by their experienced and knowledgeable park interpreters. One of the highlights of the summer season is their spectacular “Bird of Prey” show featuring a variety of birds soaring overhead, which annually thrills spectators in the Highland Valley Copper Amphitheatre.
The BC Wildlife provides kids of all ages with a full range of activities during the summer including the Wildlife Express Mini Train, the Home Hardware Double ‘H’ Corral Family Farm, the Zippity Zoo Zone Playground and their official mascot - Tango the Burrowing Owl.
Inside the Discovery Centre, guests will be intrigued by the educational and interactive displays in the Eco Gallery, the Nature Exchange and snake wall. Finally, guests will find unique mementos in the Naturally Yours Gift Shop and a wide range of food options in Blue Heron Café.
