The weekend of June 15th and 16th the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort will be hosting their 1st Annual East Kootenay Beer Festival at the Mountainside Golf Course. In addition to the resort's other offerings - golf, fine dining, spa services, professional recreation programs, skiing, trail riding, and a deluxe RV park – the festival weekend will bestow live music, great food, intriguing conversations...and an assortment of ales available for your astute appreciation, approval and acquisition.
Targeting local Kootenay breweries, as well as ones throughout Alberta and BC, there is certain to be a beer to suit even the most pretentious of palates! Perhaps there is a local lager or a domestic draught that has always peaked your interest. At Fairmont's Beer Fest, you can sample selections from such breweries as; Cariboo Brewing/Pacific Western Brewing, Russell Brewing, Cannery Brewing, Fernie Brewing, and Columbia Brewing (to name a few). Full Weekend packages will be available –including both resort and campground stays – with tickets to the gourmet-beer paired dinner, Friday evening.
Surrounded by the Rocky Mountain wilderness, and just a short walk from the famous hot springs, the RV park includes over 244 full service sites. Apart from obvious beauty that abounds in and around the park, other amenities provided are: deluxe pull-through sites, electrical hook-ups, free wireless internet, cable TV, washrooms with hot showers, laundromat, sani-dump, central fire pit, covered pavilion, playground, naturally heated mineral hot pools (entrance fee applies), excellent restaurants nearby, and the Brewer’s Market.
