2012 Festival of Dance, Edmonton, AB, June 28 – July 8, 2012
You are invited to be transformed by dance. With the smallest movement of their feet, dancers – from professional to recreational – change perceptions. Audience members will begin to see dance differently, recreational dancers will begin to see themselves in a new light, professional dancers will see the effect of their creations. 31st Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, Edmonton, AB, August 16-26, 2012
Take a historic neighbourhood, add dozens of different venues, stir in performers from around the world, throw in a few hundred thousand audience members and let it grow over 11 days. The result: one Fringe Festival. The Edmonton Fringe Theatre Festival hits the streets of Old Strathcona for 11 days of theatrical merriment. From noon to midnight daily, performers from around the globe and around the corner will entertain audiences with song, dance, drama, comedy, and everything in between. It is an "unjuried, uncensored presentation of theatre" that can range from the silly to profound and everywhere in between. Call (780) 409-1910 for more information on the Fringe Festival, or go to www.fringetheatre.ca.
