RVT iPad App
RVT.com
At last check, somewhere around 10,000,000 households in North America own an RV – and the RV lifestyle is getting more popular all the time. And up until recently to find one you'd need to either a) go down to the local dealership, b) pick up a trade magazine or newspaper, or c) boot up to your computer and do a search the old fashioned way.
RVT.com has brought online RV shopping to the palm of your hand with the RV Classifieds app for iPad – with a shrunken down iPhone version, simply called RVT.com Mobile. RVT.com has somewhere in the neighbourhood of 60,000 RVs currently in their database from across North America, showing listings from both dealers and individuals.
Large classifieds marketplaces have not traditionally been mobile friendly – these apps are definitely bucking the trend. Both apps are clearly done right – they do what they're supposed to do, quickly and easily. They will immediately start showing listings in your area, which you can then filter by RV Type, Make, City, Price, Year, and Length; or you can search by specific keywords.
Mobile apps are obviously an excellent fit for the transient RVing lifestyle. On-the-go RVers often stay connected via mobile data plans wherever they go, and state-to-state RV trading is a popular practice these days. Why wait and depend on RV the campground's "shore" wifi to set up your next trade?
With these apps you can swipe through listings and photos with familiar gestures, and contact a seller instantly by phone or email; clicking on the address opens it up directly in a Google map. You can also leave feedback for the developers from right within the app. The iPad version also works well for sellers, including a "Place Ad" button taking you directly to RVT.com. Dealers can use it as an effective handheld inventory resource while on the lot with customers.
Apps like these continue to show the versatility of touch screen smart phones and tablet devices.
