The Fun Times Guide
Stones RV
Purchasing an RV is a big decision and big investment. There are so many factors to consider when buying an RV. Whether it is your first or third unit, you’ll want to make sure you take the right steps, ask the right questions and ultimately make the right decision.
Here are a few tips from seasoned RVers we’ve had the pleasure of speaking with over the years.
- Do your homework and know what you’re looking for before you show up to the RV dealership. Even a simple Google search for RV type, make and models will save you the stress of being unsure about the RV you’re looking for. Consider this “window shopping”. Go RVing Canada is a great online resource for the newbie RVer.
- Ask friends and family who own or have owned an RV before about their RV, what to consider when buying an RV and if they’d recommend an RV manufacturer or brand, and RV dealership, and why.
- Purchasing a pre-owned RV could be a great option if it’s your first. The depreciation value will save you money and it will allow you to really get to know what you want in your next RV.
- Determine your budget and stick to it as much as possible. Keep in mind that some RV dealers have access to good financing options that are different than your bank. A good sales person will work within your budget and help you find the Right RV, not an RV that they want to sell you.
- When “kicking tires” politely ask the sales person to give you a few minutes alone so you can feel comfortable, walk around, try things out and get used to the unit.
- Take your time. This is likely one of the largest buying decisions you’ll have made so take your time with it. Talk with as many people as you can, and do as much online research as you can muster before making your decision.
- Lastly, consider purchasing your RV from an RV Care Dealership (shameless plug). RV Care Dealerships like Stones RV, have access to preferred pricing on RV Parts and Accessories and strict standards on quality and customer service are good reasons to consider an RV Care Dealer when purchasing your first or third RV.
