In support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Region, Woody’s RV World announced “RV for the Cause” and the launch of the “Pink RV” raffle starting in January and commencing with a draw in September.
In an effort to bring awareness and support to the breast cancer cause, Woody’s and supporting partners pioneered the program to purchase and donate the Pink RV to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The 22-foot Winnebago Pink Minnie trailer features a pink fiberglass exterior with sofa bed slideout, front bedroom and rear bathroom.
“Woody’s is proud to help raise awareness and support a cause that affects a large number of Canadians. Many RVers, including those within our company, have been affected by breast cancer, and Woody’s is trying to help where it can,” said Darren Paylor, president Woody’s RV World which operates four stores in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton and Grande Prairie. “One in nine Canadian women are expected to develop breast cancer during their lifetime (age 90) and one in 29 will die from it. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Region and Woody’s RV World extend a sincere thankyou to everyone for their continued support in their journey to eradicate breast cancer.”
At a cost of $10 each, raffle tickets are now available at all Woody’s RV World locations, as well as at local Alberta-based Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation events. The Pink RV for the Cause will be traveling and visiting communities at various special events throughout Alberta in the months prior to the draw date. Volunteers will also be on-hand selling tickets during RVDA-sponsored RV shows and the Boat and Sportsmen Show in Alberta.
The draw for the 2015 Minnie 2101 FBS travel trailer will take place at the 12th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Prairies/NWT Region’s “Batting Against Breast Cancer” slo-pitch tournament in Edmonton on Sept. 13.
