November 2023
Snowbirds & RV Travelers 20.7 for November is available now!
More often than not, we report about paddlesport opportunities among the pages of Snowbirds and RV Travelers every issue. Select national, provincial and state parks, as well as waterfront RV resorts and their surrounding communities all provide access to the water.
The popularity of stand up paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks and canoes has been on a steady rise in the last number of years and they continue to be enjoyed by countless RVers every season for several reasons.
They are affordable. Spend as much as you want or adhere to a budget. After the initial cost(s), most destinations offer free access to the local routes, providing a great way to fish, enjoy wildlife viewing, and see beyond the immediate area you’re visiting.
They are convenient. Kayaks, SUPs, and canoes are built with more lightweight designs than ever and even inflatable options are available. With a variety of roof racks and vehicle mounting systems on the market, many are easy to transport in practically any RV or tow vehicle.
They are good for your health. Most importantly, when you use the force of a paddle, you’re working muscles you may never have known you had, thus building strength while improving cardiovascular health and endurance.
If you’re looking to upgrade or new to the pastime, various options are available. In the event you plan to visit the series of upcoming winter RV shows, you’ll no doubt find an exhibitor (or three) showcasing the latest trends and technology to refine your choices and preferences.
Not sure where to go or how to enjoy paddlesports? Expect to see more destinations with unique opportunities in this issue of Snowbirds and RV Travelers and issues to come in 2024.
