October 2023 Issue
The warm temperatures of summer have been replaced by cool breezes, the days are now shorter and road trips in your motorhome or travel trailer are less frequent. For snowbirds, however, another RV season is just beginning.
In our October edition of Snowbirds and RV Travelers - and for the upcoming four issues - you’ll read about several RV resorts as management at destinations across the southern U.S. (and beyond) are ramping up to greet the flock of RVers. If it’s your first winter in your RV or looking for someplace new to visit, the choices can be daunting.
It’s important to base your choice(s) on the location; RV grounds and facilities; services on and off-site, weather trends, local outdoor attractions, and places of interest. Other criteria include the resort’s social atmosphere, scheduled events, and overall atmosphere.
Among all the choices, you’ll notice some common trends including new features, upgrades, and even more unique activities. A lot of planning is involved at RV resorts and the result is five-star treatment and amenities.
The local area, too, is important. RV parks and resorts are strategically located to meet a variety of preferences. Some are near larger cities to offer plenty of excitement while others are more remote near quiet and quaint communities. Both have advantages and there are many options.
On a final note, space fills quickly with new RVers while the percentage of returning visitors at a resort is high. So, always reserve sooner than later to guarantee a site at your preferred destination and enjoy the new snowbird season to the fullest extent.
