From a rare 1927 Duesenberg priced in excess of one million dollars, to Back to the Future’s DeLorean, to a 1957 classic Chevrolet Belair – and over 1,000 other exquisite vehicles and memorabilia – the 250,000 square foot Dezer Museum & Pavilion prepares for its official public launch.
The unique road trip down memory lane comes to South Florida thanks to prominent New York/South Florida developer and founder of Dezer Properties, Michael Dezer.
An avid car enthusiast and collector for over 50 years, Dezer is hosting the official launch of his landmark Dezer Collection Museum & Pavilion, on Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m. Located at 2000 NE 146th Street in North Miami, the museum will then be open to the public and available for hosting private events.
The 250,000-square-foot multi-faceted facility includes a total of nine exhibitions, positioned within lifelike dioramas that depict the historical period and origin of the automobiles on display. The museum also includes one-of-a-kind concepts such as an indoor drive-in movie theatre and wax figure museum, as well as a 75,000 square foot event venue, the Dezer Showplace. Featuring several ballrooms that can accommodate parties of every size and up to 1,500 guests, the event and entertainment space is perfect for hosting exceptional birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings, corporate parties, and auctions, among other events.
Guests will weave through the museum where they can trace the evolution of the automobile with exhibits showcasing American classics from all eras, rare European classics, military cars, electric cars, micro-cars, bicycles, classic motorcycles, and more.
A must-see attraction, the Dezer Collection Museum’s “Hollywood Cars of the Stars” exhibition showcases over 80 vehicles that played a leading role in some of Hollywood’s most celebrated films and television shows of all time. The exhibition includes vehicles from blockbuster hits such as the Dukes of Hazzard; The Beverly Hillbillies; Grease; Miami Vice; Ghostbusters; Harry Potter; Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; The Munsters; The Great Race; and Back to the Future; as well as features 11 original vehicles from the Batman movies.
The ‘Cars of the Stars’ exhibit is complemented by the museum’s soon-to-open James Bond component, which valued at over $15 million represents one of the largest collections of the film franchise’s props and vehicles in the world. The collection includes a fascinating array of automobiles, motorcycles, submarines, airplanes and boats utilized on-screen by the beloved secret agent 007.
“It’s been a longtime dream for me to open my collection to the public,” said Michael Dezer, founder of the Dezer Collection Museum. “I’m fortunate to have traveled the world and been able to secure a number of the most recognizable cars in history. It is a pleasure to share the unique beauty and identity of each of the cars present in my collection.”
The invitation-only grand opening will feature a 1950’s flair, including performances by Hollywood look-a-likes such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley; an old-time American diner; tasting stations of international delicacies showcased alongside European classic cars; and most importantly, the extraordinary automobiles themselves.
