Camping In Ontario
Camping In Ontario announced its new board of directors at the association’s convention and annual general meeting (AGM) held November 15-18 at Caesars Windsor in Ontario. The board of directors was elected during the AGM on November 17.
“We congratulate the newly elected board members and look forward to working together to support the increasingly growing and changing campground sector,” said Alexandra Anderson, Camping In Ontario executive director.

John O’Brien, newly elected president said, “I am extremely proud to be taking over the role of president for the OPCA. I would like to thank Bruce Dressel for leading the organization for the last 3 years. He has been tireless in his commitment and support for the organization and has led the board in a very positive direction. I will do my best to continue the growth that Bruce has been working toward. Also special thanks to three departing board members, Frank Brouwers, Walter Geisser and Robert Trask. Frank, Walter and Robert have been dedicated, long-term members of the board. We all thank them for the commitment and energy that they have contributed to the organization. I look forward to the challenge ahead and wish all departing board members the very best for the future.”
Camping In Ontario was established in 1969. It now represents over 435 independently owned campgrounds operating in Ontario. Its members are part of an industry that contributes $1-billion to Ontario’s GDP and $4.7-billion to Canada’s economy overall. Camping In Ontario members are also an important source of employment and economic activity in rural communities across the province of Ontario, generating nearly $351-million in tax revenues and supporting 15,000 jobs. www.campinginontario.ca
