By The Camping and RVing British Columbia Coalition
The Camping and RV BC Coalition (CRVBCC) is encouraging British Columbians to celebrate the province's birthday outdoors whether it's picnicking, fishing, hiking, biking or camping.
Tips and Tricks for a successful camping trip:
Locate a Campsite: If you haven't already pre-booked a campsite for one of the busiest summer weekends, you may still be in luck! Check out our "Flashlight Updates" on our website for last-minute campground availability http://www.campingrvbc.com/campgrounds-availability-long-weekend/ or use our google map to locate private campgrounds, recreation sites, provincial and national parks.
Camp Safely: Safety is everyone's responsibility. There are campfire bans in some regions of British Columbia, such as the Cariboo and Kamloops, for updated information visit http://bcwildfire.ca/hprScripts/WildfireNews/Bans.asp . Before you go, learn how to keep the forests safe by visiting http://www.campingrvbc.com/faq/campfires/.
Share the Experience: Submit your story of a camping, fishing, or hiking trip and you could win a grand prize! It may be an RV rental with a four night stay in a campground of your choice in British Columbia. Other prizes include a complimentary stay at Porteau Cove Cabin, 2 night campground stay at any Provincial Park and 4 night campground stay. For more information www.campingrvbc.com/contest.
Camp Responsibly: So everyone can have an enjoyable camping experience, please use campsite etiquette. For tips visit http://www.campingrvbc.com/camping-tips/etiquette/.
Events: The BC Parks Passport is an exciting program geared towards families, but BC Parks encourages everyone - especially those who are kids at heart - to join the adventure! Simply visit a participating BC Parks campground or a BC Visitor Centre to get your free passport. Then collect stamps/stickers while exploring British Columbia and earn fabulous, collectible prizes.
