Begg’s Black Book, offering a monthly analysis of the wholesale specialty vehicle market, reported that values showed significant gains in February, led by towables which reached the highest point in four years.
This past month, motorhomes came in at an average selling price at auction of $39,459, which is up $3,836 (10.1%) from a month ago. Towables, including travel trailers, fifth-wheels and camping trailers, skyrocketed to $11,840, up an impressive $1,676 (16.4%) from last month’s average price at the auctions. This is the highest that towables have been since April of 2010, when they clocked in at $11,926. For reference, one year ago the average motorhome sold for $38,362 at auction, while the average towable was $10,022.
