This may sound like a conundrum but renting an RV has many benefits whether you own one or not. They provide an ideal means if you want to test-drive the RV lifestyle; the perfect way to put a different class of model through its paces; and provide the ideal opportunity to visit a destination within a destination.
Most importantly, however, renting a RV is a means to get out, explore and discover the true meaning of traveling. Given these reasons – and many more that we surely know exist – it’s common to see many RV rental units cruising the major highways across the country.
For first-time RVers, however, renting one may be a little intimidating. An RV is more robust, about three times the size of an SUV or sedan and the driving experience is, let’s say, different with its larger chassis, unique handling and heavier displacement. Nonetheless, it’s like getting used to anything that is new, and RV driving-confidence comes quickly. This is when the services of an RV rental company come into play.

Many RV are available including Class B’s and van conversions.
“Traveling in an RV is a bucket list item for many of our consumers and combining the experience with convenience services makes a trip that much more exciting,” says Amanda Henschell, Marketing Manager for Fraserway RV, which consists of an RV rental division offering a variety Class A, Class B, Class C, truck campers, and van conversion rentals.
If you have never rented an RV before, it’s not as cut-and-dry like renting a car. In fact, resorting to Fraserway RV is unique even in the RV space. With 12 dealerships across Canada – and a total of six offering rental services in Whitehorse, YT, Delta, BC, Leduc, AB, Airdrie, AB, as well as Cookstown, ON and Bedford, NS - convenience starts right when you arrive in the area of your destination (pre-rental arrangements can even be made at anyone of its additional dealerships across the country).
One of the takeaways from its rental services, however, is the complete orientations on the RV rental, which includes a complete run-down on all of the unit’s systems, functions, capabilities and even handling to eliminate any guess work, thus maximizing your vacation time. If there’s something you’re not sure of, just ask. Your answer will be addressed.

Why not plan to get away to a scenic destination this season?
“Our customers are provided with full orientations that last 30 to 60 minutes and are supplied with a comprehensive booklet (in various languages) outlining further operating information and technical details,” says Henschell. “Plus, we only rent out RVs that are no more than three years old with low mileage as we strive to ensure top running units to avoid any type of malfunction or break down. All of our RVs are also completely serviced by qualified technicians.”
Nonetheless, as anything can sometimes happen during travel, Henschell explains Fraserway RV has an on-road support team Coast to Coast – from Delta to Bedford– offering trouble-shooting and road-side assistance – a service that also includes the swapping of the unit right at the area of a breakdown. While not common, the road-side service exists to provide minimized down time during vacation.

Select units are also pet-friendly.
The Finer details
While it’s not very common (if at all) to travel with bed linens or a state-of-the-art coffee maker, all RVs can be made available with a convenience kit for an additional fee. With all the essentials you can think of you’ll need when RVing – it’s definitely worth it. Some of the items include:
- Towels, sheets, duvets/comforter, sleeping bags, pillows, and pillow cases
- Camping chairs, dinner and cutlery sets, coffee mugs, glasses, and variety of assorted kitchenware such as a coffee maker and food savers
- Mixing bowls and various cookware including pots, pans, and a cutting board
- A flashlight, an axe, water hose, various tools, a water hose and cleaning supplies.
- Other items available include WiFi routers and GPS devices
Maps and itineraries are also included and in the event you have excess baggage, luggage storage is also available.

Several services are in place to ensure a relaxing time no matter where your travels take you.
With much to do and see traveling, Fraserway RV has partnerships with select tour companies to arrange excursions at popular destinations and popular RV parks can also be recommended.
Even though you could probably spend multi-weeks on the road (and there’s a five-day rental limit), when return trips are not possible due to travel itineraries, one-way rentals (for an additional fee) are available, depending on the location.
“We provide everything you possibly need – except for food – so you’ll be ready to go,” says Henschell. “It’s like staying in a five star hotel, but you’re on the road.”

RV rentals are available at six locations – from BC to Nova Scotia.
Whether you’re coming from the U.S., Europe or across Canada, there’s no need to worry about collision coverage either as there are a series of deductible reducer agreements available. For instance, all Fraserway RV rentals come with a Basic Package that includes $5 million liability and a deductible of $7,500. However, for an additional $26 (+tax/night) the company’s Collision Deductible Reducer (CDR) package offers a reduced deductible of $750 to pay for damage including the tires and glass. A Collision Deductible Waiver (CDW) package is also available. It’s only offered in conjunction with the CDR package, which covers all of the above but has $0 deductible. The combined cost is $13 plus $26/night.
Regardless of the package(s) or the type of RV you do choose to rent, the services at Fraserway RV are undoubtedly meant to make the most of your vacation.
“With our low mileage fleet, which is well-equipped and maintained by expert technicians plus our series of additional services, we offer a first-class RV rental service where there’s little concern to enjoy time on the road,” says Henschell.
