The Honda Ridgeline is a truck that has seen its fair share of drama. It’s a love it or hate it type of vehicle to begin with; a polarizing characteristic that seems to also equate to rumours of the trucks demise. Talk of Honda axing the vehicle morph into confirmation the vehicle will live another year, up and down like a roller-coaster. The Ridgeline’s existence has seem to be on the cusp on a yearly basis. Then just when we thought the midsize pickup was going away for good, Honda surprised us all again when they announced that while production for the current generation will end in mid-2014, a new version is coming within "the next two years." They even released a teaser image to whet our appetites. Despite just being a silhouette, this single sketched line says a lot about the future of Honda’s only truck. For one, it will see the departure of the Ridgeline’s unique styling in favour of a more traditional pickup truck shape. This makes sense as the segment is flourishing at the moment for everyone, and being the odd kid in the room doesn’t help Honda financially. Problem, now they won’t be the odd kid in the room anymore. As for any other information, Honda are keeping mum, but we’ll be sure to give this our full attention.
