Club News & Events:
Combine off-roading with a good cause at Jeepalooza. From humble beginnings of Jeep enthusiasts exploring the back country while raising proceeds for cancer, the event has grown to welcome all kinds of 4x4 vehicles and this year raised $36,500 for BC Cancer Foundation. Read the highlights on page 12.
Wheeling in a group offers different challenges from exploring solo. Follow Kristina Wheeler in Part 1 of her “Lessons in Group Wheeling” where she guides a trip to Poison Mountain, BC and learn what it takes to lead a group on a multi-day adventure - Page 14.
Gear:
Portable fridge/freezers are not crucial to an overland adventure. However, they can definitely enhance the experience by allowing you to go longer and farther off-road. Last Issue we reviewed one brand and in this issue, on pages 28 and 34, we review two more – if you try one, you may never touch a cooler or melted ice again.
New for 2020:
Brand loyalty out the window, you may be wondering which diesel engine is best from the “Big Three” in half-ton trucks. Page 50 sheds some light on what’s in store from Ram, Ford and GM, with reviews on the new diesel engines available in 2020.
Check out fellow readers and wheelers on Page 60. We showcase our #READERSRIGS picks for the months of September and October. You can submit yours for a chance to be featured in an upcoming issue @www.submitmyrig.com.
