Voss Takes the BITD Parker 425
Industry News Notes
It was a dusty affair as hundreds of teams flocked to Parker, Arizona in search of the first win of the 2014 season. It would be Jason Voss that would prove the upset, winning the event for the second year on the trot. Able to navigate a challenging washout that claimed several competitors including Robby Gordon, Voss powered on to surpass Tavo Vildosola Jr. and Mark Weyhrich to win the Trick Truck class and the event overall. The feel good story of the event was that of Ty Patten in Class 1800 Sportsman. Ty was diagnosed with a brain tumour at age 21 and spent the majority of that year in and out of the hospital. Wanting to go racing, Tyler co-drove for his father, Lee Patten, taking a class victory in the #1814 buggy.
The top ten finishers are as follows:
- Jason Voss, Cupertino, CA.
- Gustavo Vildosola, Jr., Mexicali, Mexico.
- Mark Weyhrich, Troutdale, OR.

- Troy Herbst, Las Vegas, NV.
