13 Why You Hiding
Why You Hiding Back Here Award: Baja Beetle – Amongst the never ending sea of Brodozers that littered the outside display, a hidden gem could be found in the shape of a VW Beetle. Why did this catch our eye amongst all the testosterone? Unlike its company, this little 70 hp Beetle is a Class 11 Baja racer that will be doing battle in one of the world’s most brutal races – the Baja 1000. Respect!

Most Obscure 4WD: USSV Rhino GX – While this looks like an armoured urban assault vehicle, it is actually a luxury alternative by coachbuilders US Specialty Vehicles. Starting with a Ford Super Duty, USSV create this very unique and off-road capable vehicle.

You Don’t Need to be Jacked to the Sky to be Cool Award: KMC JK – If you haven’t figured it out by now, we’re not fans of the sky-high lifts. Keeping your wheeler just low enough to get the job done improves stability, and KMC proved you could look good doing it as well.

Budd’s Favourite Potential Project Vehicle: HEMA Land Cruiser – I make no bones about it, I’m a big softy when if comes to any 70-Series Land Cruiser, and this particular example got my creative juices flowing. There’s not much I would want to change, as this Cruiser is already a veteran of several overland trips in the South West U.S.

Bryans Favourite Potential Project Vehicle: Stock Bronco – Who doesn’t love a classic drop top with V-8 power mixed with a strong heritage and healthy aftermarket.

Most Unexpected 4WD Award: Honda Ridgeline Baja Racer – We were expecting Honda to pull the wraps off the a new Ridgeline concept truck at SEMA, but we were not expecting it to be a 550 hp twin-turbo powered V-6 race truck that will do battle in the Baja 1000. While having a tube frame chassis, the bodywork does give some hint to the coming production Ridgeline.
There's still more to come - check back in a few days.
