Quickie Tie Downs
By Jim Moir
Six years ago I attended the BC Boat and Sportsmen’s Show at the Abbotsford Tradex where I met Dale Nevison of Quickie Tie-Down Canada. I explained to him that I am an all-season ATV, UTV and snowmobile enthusiast, and have tried many types of tie-downs to secure machines to my flat deck trailer. Like many I was skeptical of spending the money on Quickie Tie-Downs without knowing if they actually worked as advertised. With Dale’s assurances, however, I purchased eight.
I am very happy to say that I still have the same eight operational Quickies. They are easy to apply and release. Regardless of the weather and temperature, I have always been able to loosen the ratchet and rope while others get so frustrated with their tie-downs they cut their straps.
Quickie Tie Downs
The Quickie Tie-Down covering is a hard plastic that protects the ratchet and gears. They are lightweight and have a lifetime warranty on the housing and mechanism.
With the variety of load limits, you can attach virtually anything from gas cans to large side-by-side UTVs securely. The new model Quickies are available with a tensioning system, which makes loading and unloading your gear even easier.
I conduct ‘Train the Trainer’ instructor training courses as well as operator safety courses for ATVs, UTVs and snowmobiles, and always recommend these to my students. Quickie Tie-Downs are by far the best tie-downs I have ever used. If you want more information or a demonstration on the Quickie Tie-Down, drop by Dale’s booth at the show and say ‘Hi’.
