My Article
by Perry Mack
Articles are roughly 400 to 1400 words and can include any news and events as well as some background information. You can submit your article in perfect form and grammar but it's not necessary. If you're uncomfortable with your writing style just submit your article in point form and we'll turn it into perfect prose. We want to hear your story.
If you're uncertain what to include - include it. It's easier for an editor to take out what doesn't fit than to create additional information.
Submissions should be in Word - any version is fine. Start with the title on the first line and the authors name (you) and Instagram handle on the second line. Write your story in point form or paragraphs, what ever is more comfortable for you. Finish with your byline - name, business, contact info and experience if it's important to you.
Please don't put it into a pdf and don't combine the photos inside your document. Magazines don't layout like club newsletters so it's actually more work for us not less. In addition, the photos often get compressed and then the quality is too poor for print.
The filename should be the title of your article, the word count and author i.e.

The most important proof reading you do is the names of people and places in your article as well as names, dates and addresses. We can't spell check this information so odds are if you don't catch it, neither will we.
Don't plagarize, in other words don't copy and paste from someone else's work. Feel free to quote from other work but give the original author his due and tell us who it is and where the information was originaly published.
