When it comes to riding a Honda Jet Ski, folks typically assume when the fun is over, the vehicle gets put on a jet ski trailer or tied up to a skiff, right? So what do you do with a Jet Ski when it’s quite capable of pulling 70 mph down a regular car-driving road, park it in the garage, and put a Honda Jet Ski cover on it for good measure? That might be the case for one creative bunch after they got pulled over by a regular, car-driving road county traffic officer.
Let’s Try This Great Idea
The Honda Jet Ski has been a popular water sport and entertaining vehicle for years, performing extremely well in wet conditions as well as underperformance. Used by tourists as well as lifeguards, the Honda water vehicle has consistently proven itself as a great pick both in terms of durability as well as long-term reliability after purchase. However, nobody at Honda ever expected when these beauties rolled off the factory floor that someone would gut one of them and attach it to a real, road-worthy Honda scooter. However, that’s exactly what YouTube favorites, Bikes, and Beards, did with their creative team one day in the warehouse.
Making A Funny Idea Reality Is Hard Work
As design became reality, the Bikes and Beards guys started to realize converting a Honda Jet Ski into a road-worthy cruiser on two wheels was a hell of a challenge. Of course, this particular team was also already famous for making an entire motorcycle from whatever they could find in Home Depot as well. So some heavy-duty brain power was already involved. Imagine what these guys could do on a trip to Mars?
Once complete, however, the finished product not only rode extremely smooth, it was a dream to drive. Because of the dimensions of the Jet Ski, the rider is lower to the ground than a typical scooter or motorcycle. The innards were made out of a Honda Silverwing, strong enough to carry the weight of the Jet Ski body.
Results, It Worked Too Well
After a full business week (five days) The Bikes and Beards guys rolled out the new Frankenstein creation on the road. It tested wonderfully. The heavier weight rang in at 900 lbs and the length made the Honda Jet Ski on wheels a land cruiser of sorts. Of course, when you go and invent something that really works, you want to show it off. So that’s what they guys did, taking the modified Jet Ski to a local drive-through. Unfortunately, an extra set of eyes happened to see the contraption as well.
Local law enforcement was a bit puzzled by what they were looking at, including the requisite life-preserver on the rider, so the vehicle had to be pulled over on sight. Not only did the Bikes and Beards driver have to cough up the critical driver’s license and registration, but the traffic officer also wanted to see the boat license on the suspect Jet Ski as well. Talk about extra regulations! No surprise, an inspection cert was missing. Oops! Ticket time!
Of course, a Honda Jet Ski cover in the garage is a great way to cover up the suspect vehicle from prying eyes, so adding it to the Christmas want list should be a priority for the next holiday season!
