The HTR TX Hill Country RV resort in Kerrville, TX, is just one of nine HTR properties managed by Blue Water, which specializes in ‘investing and developing RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions,’ to further enhance experiences, comfort and amenities for RVers and seasonal snowbirds.
Although a number of its properties are located at ocean-side destinations that make for excellent winter RV stays, this resort is equally impressive. It sprawls across 26 ha (65 ac) along the Guadalupe River with access to hiking trails and the scenic countryside of Texas Hill Country.
Tall standing cypress trees line its grounds, green spaces surround the RV sites, and rolling hills span for kilometres. It’s quiet as it is peaceful and serves returning and new Canadian snowbirds every winter.
Just one example of the modern interiors of the tiny homes.
Choose Your Way to Stay
HTR TX Hill Country not only offers a variety of accommodations but there are many choices which to choose from. For instance, its full-service RV sites (complete with 30-/50-amp power, water, sewer, and WiFi) are spacious with pull-through, back-in and waterfront locations, and several choices of tiny homes are available with six different layouts.
Fully furnished and modern, the tiny homes are located along the river or further inside the grounds, available in one-bedroom layouts with lofts and, depending on the floorplan, can sleep up to six. Some options include kitchenettes, full-size kitchens and outdoor fireplaces.
Regardless of where - or how - you stay, the resort has an abundance of features, services and nearby Texas Hill Country attractions. In addition to restrooms, shower and laundry facilities, there’s an inground pool, general camp store, and even watersport rentals.
Days can be spent lounging by the pool but for a little more adventure, there’s direct access to the Guadalupe River. Kayaking is one of the most common ways RVers explore its shores and fishing (the Fork of the river is a known active spot) and tubing is popular.

Explore Hill Country: From Wine to Nature Discovery
There are a few easy hiking loops on the grounds as well. To further discover the local area, trails at Lost Maples State Natural Area, Pedernales Falls State Park, and Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in Fredericksburg are all great options. They are about an hour from the resort.
Fredericksburg is also known for its many wineries and award-winning private labels. Considered the ‘epicentre of Texas Wine Country,’ Fredericksburg and Gillespie County feature more than 60 vineyards and offer great day trips to sip and savour the fruits of the region.
Kerrville, too, has many places of interest. Enjoy a tasting flight at the two wineries and craft breweries or visit the StoneHedge II at the Hill Country Arts Foundation, Riverside Nature Center and the Museum of Western Art. Downtown even makes for great short trips with its excellent choice of restaurants, shops, unique boutiques, and entertainment.
With average high temperatures of 20 to 25°C (68 - 77°F) from November to April, the weather is not too hot nor too cool to enjoy what the region has to offer. The natural scenery, welcoming communities and amenities of the HTR TX Hill Country will offer great winter stays for seasons to come.
