Giant Redwoods RV Park on the Eel River in Humboldt County of northern California is your destination resort in the mild coastal climate that nourishes the magnificent redwoods. Whether you enjoy one of the many activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking on the Eel River, strolling among the majestic redwoods, driving down the Avenue of the Giants, or just peaceful camping, this park provides a welcoming environment with plenty of year-round activities at your fingertips.
Campers at the park have exclusive access to the best swimming hole around! Want to catch some salmon and steelhead? They run in the Eel River in the fall. Or just take your kayak out and see the osprey and deer at the river’s edge, because it is a beautiful river, the third largest in California, carving deep canyons down great mountains, through flat valleys, and past majestic and ancient redwood forests.
There are numerous hiking trails from the park and off the Avenue of the Giants following the river and up into the mountains. For a less strenuous hike, try the adjacent Humboldt Redwoods State Park, which has the largest remaining stand of virgin redwoods in the world with paths of soft forest floor, eye-high ferns, and redwoods taller than you can see. Don’t strain your neck gawking but do immerse yourself in their unique spirit. There is nothing else like it.
There are several local wineries to welcome you including Riverbend Cellars within walking distance from the park. Enjoy a little antiquing and like the Victorian age? Up the river near the coast is the charming town of Ferndale, which Forbes named “one of America’s prettiest towns.” Take it all in then drive just five minutes to California’s magnificent, undeveloped Lost Coast, one way in, and one way out.
The spectacular confluence of land and sea along the Lost Coast will astound you. You can explore the area hiking, fishing, hunting and sightseeing in the mountain streams, forests and trails, some are designated as National Recreation Trails.
Then come back to your base camp where there’s abundant sunshine, privacy, and experienced, friendly on-site camp hosts whose goal is to make you feel like a guest at the Ritz.
Giant Redwoods RV Park offers the features you want: picnic tables & fire pits for every site, resurfaced & graded park grounds, coin-operated laundry, volleyball, tetherball & horseshoe pits, upgraded free cable and Wi-Fi park-wide, upgraded electrical boxes/ panels to 50A, playground for kids, and a dog park for Fido. We love dogs! And of course, there are over 300 redwood trees on our recently re-landscaped property. This is your destination resort, snowbirds.
