With expansive, clean grounds, a variety of amenities and social activities, The Golden Village Palms RV Resort could be considered an oasis in Southern California for Canadian snowbirds. It’s a destination that attracts countless RVers who like to spend the winter months in a luxurious resort-style atmosphere.
Located in Hemet, CA, approximately two hours east of Los Angeles and an equal distance north of San Diego, Golden Village Palms is known to be one of the largest luxury RV resorts in the Golden State. With 800-plus spacious sites, you have a choice of six different options depending on your power required, space needed, and distance preferred to the ground’s amenities.
Once your RV is connected to the electrical, cable, WiFi, and sewage, there are many comforts and activities to make the most of your time all day, every day.
Take Part in the Golden Jubilee
This year marks the resort’s 50th anniversary and special events will take place from October 27 - 30. It’s set to kick off with a red ribbon cutting ceremony followed by scheduled live music and entertainment, food, beverages, a raffle, and more over four days. If you arrive later than October, many additional anniversary celebrations - as well as social events - will be held throughout the season.

Wellness and fitness classes are held throughout the season.
First-Class Grounds: From Pools to Patios
However, the amenities and facilities among the resort's grounds can be enjoyed practically anytime. Three freeform pools are centre stage for water aerobic classes or to exercise and enjoy at your own pace; the expansive outdoor patios are great areas to socialize; the activity garden is where you can play bocce ball, horseshoes or volleyball.
A fully-equipped fitness centre is also on-site. Additionally, a designated Lifestyle Activities Manager of the resort curates a robust calendar of wellness, social and recreational activities throughout the year.
One of the other popular pastimes here is pickleball. There are 10 championship courts (certified by the Pickleball Association (USAPA)) and professional tournaments occur throughout the season. Workshops are even available by certified pros. Shuffleboard, too, is popular and the resort’s Shuffleboard Pavilion is California's Shuffleboard Hall of Fame.

Pickleball is very popular. There are even designated workshops to improve your game.
But not all events involve physical activity. There’s always something to keep you engaged whether it's in the Grand Clubhouse, on the expansive outdoor patio or in other areas of the resort. Card tournaments like cribbage and Texas Hold’em are well-liked while bingo, movie nights, Saturday BBQs, car shows, and craft fairs also attract the crowds.
Some of the events that were recently announced for 2023 include the Winter Wonderland, Concert Series and Boots in The Park. Be sure not to miss the annual vintage RV showcase that’s held every year. With the resort’s many venues, it’s the ideal place to host RV club rallies and other special occasions.
The latest news for the season is the hiring of a new executive chef who will manage the food and beverage operations. With a focus on readily serving banquets in its 650-seat ballroom and for special resort events, there will be an ‘elevated continental breakfast’ every weekend from Friday to Sunday, which just started in September 2022.
Wineries and Off-Site Outdoor Recreation
Being situated in Southern California, there’s always something new to experience in the immediate region. The resort is located about five minutes from many services like pharmacies, clinics, grocery stores, farmer's markets and great shopping. If you feel like a night out on the town, Hemet has a handful of casinos as well as many dining options.

Cottage properties are available to rent or purchase and are tastefully appointed.
To further experience the area, make the short trip to Temecula Valley Wine Country where many vintners and producers offer taste flights, tours and sales of local vintages. Day trips to Diamond Valley Lake are always exciting, which is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Southern California with a maximum depth of 76 m (250 ft) and 40 km (25 mi) of shoreline.
What's more, It’s one of the best fishing lakes in the state for black bass, bluegill, sunfish, rainbow trout, and blue and channel catfish. Hiking and wildlife can be enjoyed here as well. Access to the lake is via the Diamond Valley Lake Marina. Why not hit the water and drop a line in an effort to enjoy an evening fresh fish fry back at your RV?
Although the resort is a haven for snowbirds travelling by RV, cottage properties are available to rent for the season or even purchase, providing an opportunity to still enjoy the grounds and social atmosphere in the event RV travel is not an option. The cottages are tastefully appointed with modern, stylish decors, stainless steel appliances, Corian countertops, large front decks, and ample storage space.
But it doesn’t matter how you stay at the Golden Village Palms RV Resort. Its friendly atmosphere and excellent hospitality provide a home-away-from-home experience. Most importantly, it offers the chance to relax through the winter while being provided with first-class services and comfort.
