The Sunshine Coast of BC has arguably some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. It’s spectacular not only for the magnificent mountain and ocean views and awe-inspiring wildlife, but also, when you combine the two, you’ll find it brings your soul closer to nature than you could have ever dreamed. It’s not just the sights though, says Richard Quilty, owner of Timberline RV Park, ‘It’s the sound of the raven’s wings as he cuts through the air, the smell of the moss and ferns in the rainforest and the quiet places where you can soak it all in.’
Timberline RV Park makes exploring the Sunshine Coast easy, being centrally located in Earl’s Cove between Lund and Gibsons. A ferry from Horseshoe Bay or Comox will put you on the Sunshine Coast, and then you’re on your way to the park on the famous Hwy 101, part of the Pacific Coast Highway, which stretches from the hamlet of Lund, BC 15,020 kms to Chile’s south coast.
The Timberline RV Park is a seven-acre, pet-friendly hideaway with ten sites serviced by water, sewer, 30-amp power and free Wi-Fi. It’s designed so couples can have some quiet time alone with each other, as there are benches set up to catch the sun, a gazebo to sit in and tranquil places to explore. Take walks to the ocean, have a picnic on the grass or enjoy horseshoes, volleyball, badminton and tetherball. There’s a fire pit in the common area for family time, if you can get the kids off the Wi-Fi. Or at dusk, spend some quiet time watching for deer that often visit the area.
When you’re ready to be more active, there is much to explore as five lakes surround the park with the ocean a short hike to the end of the property. There is a pub, general store, boat tours, museum, bakery (seasonal) and two fine dining restaurants just down the road as well as three golf courses within easy driving distance. This is a hiking, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, boating and fishing hotspot.
So bring all your gear and be ready to be amazed, relaxed and thrilled as you explore the Sunshine Coast from your home base at Timberline RV Park – reservations are highly recommended. Open year round.
