Prince George Exhibition
Prince George Exhibition
August 8 – 12, 2012
It was a casual gathering — over drinks — that sparked the idea: host a fabulous fall fair to bring the Prince George community of townspeople and farmers together. The goal: friendly competition, lively exhibition and an opportunity to congregate over home-cooked menus. While its beginnings were humble, today these century-old festivities are anything but. Take, for example, the barrel racing and bull riding events — nail-biting action sure to pack Prince George’s exhibition stands. Beyond the bulls, there’s plenty more, with the fest’s annual tractor parade, kid’s activities, pancake breakfasts and daily roster of boot-stomping fun, courtesy of a main stage lineup that includes the Stampeders and 54-40. If you’re still tempted to two-step, be sure to cap the five-day fest by roping some tickets to the Bull Rider’s Ball. This grand finale, with its live performance by country music crooner Julian Austin, is sure to spur the heel-toe, do-se-do all night long. www.pg-x.com
