With its myriad of trails that twist along shorelines, snake through forest and skim lakeside draws, BC’s aptly named Sunshine Coast promises to sizzle with summer adventure of the two-footed variety. Not to mention the two- and four-wheeled sort. Take the Suncoaster Trail for example; this favoured stretch spans some 37 kilometres (23 miles) from Earls Cove down to seaside Halfmoon Bay — a pretty pathway that welcomes hikers, bikers, horseback riders and, in designated areas, ATVs. Veer off the beaten path at any number of exit points and your options will be varied: secluded lakes and forested and mountain-backed expanses will be cause for pause, while roadside grills dishing homespun menus will fuel the fire. Come nightfall, you can pitch a tent for lakeside camping or overnight in luxury at a nearby resort.

Arts and Culture
From world-class galleries, to festivals and musical sensations, you’ll never forget your Sunshine Coast experience. The Sunshine Coast is home to more artists per capita than any other Canadian region. With innovative style and welcoming personalities, their arts community comes to life before your very eyes.
Biking
The Sunshine Coast is one of the premier mountain biking regions in the country. With year round riding and a labyrinth of trail systems, it's no wonder the Sunshine Coast has become a must-ride destination for racers and recreationalists alike. Road cyclists will be challenged by the 70+ km Hwy 101. This scenic masterpiece weaves along the shoreline before giving way to the inland lakes near Pender Harbour. Don't be afraid to seek the road less traveled, as there are countless mountain biking routes and trails. Your mini mountain bikers will love Sprockids Park with over 14 km (8.4 mi) of trails with jumps, downhill, teeter-bars and ramps. Most of the biking routes loop back to the park centre so riders can enjoy many trails.
Dining
Food is practically an art form on the Sunshine Coast. The communities have a strong, collective sense of the power of good healthy eating and its effects on one's overall well being. Their talented culinarians pride themselves on using the freshest ingredients, with many using local and organic ingredients exclusively. And since they are along the ocean, the plates often consist of the finest local seafood, including oysters, clams, salmon and prawns. The Farmers Markets are renowned for fresh, local veggies, fruit, artisan breads and jams and much more.
Golfing
If your idea of relaxing is hitting the links, the Sunshine Coast is a golfer’s haven. With an average 2400 hours of annual sunshine, it's easy to see why golfers love to play there (even in winter). Grab your clubs and follow a golf trail along the Coast to seek out our very different and extremely scenic courses.
Water Activities
You're never far from water on the Sunshine Coast - fishing, diving, boating, paddling, swimming or just dipping your toes into the Pacific Ocean. Because of its prime geographic location, the Sunshine Coast has many protected harbours, some with commercial marinas where you can dock your boat, get supplies, rent a boat or kayak, sign on for a fishing, sailing, kayaking or sightseeing excursion or enjoy a pub lunch. There are several parks and beaches with ramps from which to launch small boats.
