PullRite announced that it is increasing the rating of one of its most popular fifth-wheel hitches, the #2700 automatic sliding ISR SuperGlide, that fits industry standard base rails to 16,000 pounds.
According to a press release, the rating increase would not translate to a hike in price. PullRite noted that the ISR SuperGlide will give dealers a hitch that meets the needs of even more short-bed truck owners, while also providing the safety and convenience of an automatic sliding hitch.
“Originally the #2700 SuperGlide had been rated at 15K, but after extensive testing utilizing the SAE J2638 testing standards, including more than 300,000 cycles of punishing tests in three dimensions, and additional rigorous road testing, the hitch simply earned higher a higher weight rating,” said Jim Karasch, project engineer.
Scott Later, PullRite’s national sales manager, added, “This is just another example of our commitment to being a U.S. manufacturer. Everyone at PullRite understands that we have to be innovative, driven and efficient to produce great products with great value – noting that most competitors have moved manufacturing to China, India or Mexico in order to produce cheaper hitches using foreign labor and materials.”
President Randy Pulliam said that the company’s decision to continue manufacturing in the U.S. had created a loyal dealer base, helping the company set sales records the past four years in a row
