With travel restrictions due to COVID-19 gradually easing, many Canadians are raring to get up and go just about anywhere. RVing is an accepted and safer option to explore new areas of the country, a fact that people have realized more and more during extended lockdowns and stay-at-home orders. It’s a spontaneous, adventurous pastime that’s not only a great alternative to visiting your typical vacation hot spot, but promotes social distancing and adherence to additional pandemic guidelines.
Longtime Explorer RV Club members Sieg and Sue Standke discovered these benefits when they first started their ‘journey of a lifetime’ with a pop-up camper in 1977. This first step into RVing gave them the confidence to eventually upgrade to larger units and travel coast to coast and into the U.S. The couple also began taking longer trips down south to many popular and iconic destinations like The Blue Ridge Mountains and Route 66.
Wherever your sights are set, whether it’s Canada, the U.S. or Mexico, part of RVing is enhancing time on the road, sharing experiences, and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Many RV clubs exist, but few have worked as hard for so long to keep building and providing value for its members as the Explorer RV Club.
With many benefits, one of the most highly recommended programs available through the club is its optional Emergency Roadside Service plan, which provides assistance every kilometre of your journey 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. The program is designed to get you and your RV back on the road as soon as possible in the event of a breakdown, an accident, or other mishap on the road. This is the kind of plan you need when you’re in a pinch and simply offers peace of mind at an affordable cost.

More Explorer RV Club Benefits

Community and camaraderie go hand in hand and some of the Standkes’ fondest RV memories are attending the club’s annual national rallies. Sieg chuckles as he reminisces about events and can recall them as if they were held just yesterday.
But what is the Standkes’ favourite part of belonging to the Explorer RV Club? “The social experience,” says Sieg without hesitation, and Sue is quick to agree. They make a great point of stating the equally important, intangible benefits of the experience. This is just one of the added benefits of belonging to the Explorer RV Club.
“It’s all about the community and the people you meet at the club’s rallies,” says Sieg. “You get together with other RVers, there’s fantastic food and people come from everywhere. You also get to check out other RVer’s units, hear about their travels, and share ideas. So, you’re always getting firsthand knowledge of where to go and recommendations of what to do when you get there.”
There is nothing like finding yourself in a group that shares your passion and enthusiasm for RVing. With two-plus decades of experience and a reputation for excellent service, the Explorer RV Club is more than a program, it’s a community and a family that shares a collective lifetime of memories, stories, and experiences from the road.
