Automotive history has been one of consolidation and amalgamation. That was up until Tesla began the electric vehicle (EV) revolution through the financial proceeds of fossil fuel credits paid by major automotive manufacturers. Previously, new brands and companies were more likely to fail than succeed (Studebaker, Edsel, DeLorean, AMC and Saturn to name a few), including the original Bremach founded in Italy during the mid-1950s.
However, in the last couple of years we’ve seen start-ups ‘pop-up’ on a regular basis like Bollinger, Rivian, and Nikola with their EV’s, and gas-powered vehicles like the INEOS Grenadier in Britain and now Bremach in the U.S.

Bremach USA survived the Italian parent companies’ demise and plans to build the Taos SUV and sell it at an MSRP of just $26,405 USD with included premium features that are upgrades on most SUV’s. Similarly, the Brio crew cab pick-up truck will be offered at $27,882 USD and will also include many standard ‘advanced’ features. Both vehicles are expected to be powered by a 2.7L four-cylinder engine cranking out 150 hp. There are no projected or confirmed torque numbers available yet.
How can a new truck company expect anyone to believe they’ll survive? The story is that they are not working alone, but are partnering with major brands for parts, which are expected to be assembled in their 23,266 sq m (250,000 sq ft) facility in California. Their key OEM partner is UAZ, an automobile manufacturer based in Ulyanovsk, Russia, which manufactures off-road vehicles, buses and trucks. Other OEMs include Bosch for electronics and GM for the six-speed GM 6L50 transmission. They say the Bremach team has built and run OEMs in developing, engineering, and manufacturing parts for vehicles, as well as the administration and management of regulatory compliance, financing, franchising and warranty.

The Brio is based on the old school Russian UAZ Patriot.
They are planning to sell through a dealer network and back up their quality claims with a five-year, 97,000 km (60,000 mi) Bumper-to-Bumper warranty and a 10-year, 193,000 km (120,000 mi) powertrain warranty.
As is the new trend from companies who have yet to actually produce a saleable product, they are taking $100 deposits on pre-orders for the TAOS. Or perhaps you’d like to become a Bremach dealer - there’s an application for that as well.
